Official SANParks rates
Kruger National Park entry fees
Kruger charges a daily conservation fee per person, in South African rand, VAT included. An international adult pays R602 a day until 31 October 2026, about $36, and R692 from 1 November 2026. There is no vehicle fee for a private car. Gates and camp receptions are run cashless, so bring a card.
If you only want the answer
An international adult pays R602 per day, about $36, until 31 October 2026, and R692 from 1 November 2026; children 2 to 11 pay R300. Kruger charges no vehicle fee, and the fee is counted per night, so three nights cost three fees. Pay by card: the gates are cashless.
Daily conservation fee (per person, per day)
| International adult (12 and older) | R602 | about $36; 1 Nov 2025 to 31 Oct 2026. R692 (about $42) from 1 Nov 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| International child (2 to 11) | R300 | about $18; R345 from 1 Nov 2026 |
| SADC national, adult | R275 | child R137; R296 and R147 from 1 Nov 2026 |
| South African citizen or resident, adult | R134 | child R67; R140 and R70 from 1 Nov 2026. Show SA ID or permit at the gate |
| Infants under 2 | Free | all nationalities |
| Wild Card, International All Parks (annual) | R4,680 | individual; couple R7,310, family R8,745 (1 Nov 2025 to 31 Oct 2026). Pays for itself on the eighth day for one adult |
The international adult fee has risen from R535 (1 Nov 2024 to 31 Oct 2025) to R602 and then R692, 29% in two tariff years, while the South African fee rose from R128 to R140. SANParks' fee policy counts the fee per night spent in the park: a day visitor pays once, and three nights cost three fees, not four. Nationals of Mozambique and Zimbabwe may pay the South African rate under SANParks' 2011 transfrontier rule, which the current web pages do not restate.

Why other sites show R535, or R692 for this year
R535 was the international adult fee from 1 November 2024 to 31 October 2025 and still appears on many pages. One fee site prints the 2026/27 figures (R692, R345, R296, R140) under a 2025/26 heading; they apply only from 1 November 2026. Articles from 2018 quoting an R82 conservation fee and R285 campsites are eight years old.
SANParks charges per person only at Kruger, so any page listing a car entry fee is wrong for self-drivers. Commercial open safari vehicles pay a separate operator fee, which is not on SANParks' public rates page.

Vehicle entry
| Private car, saloon or 4x4 | No fee | SANParks lists only per-person fees for Kruger |
|---|---|---|
| Caravans and trailers | No fee | allowed on tar roads only |
| Motorcycles | Not permitted | also no bicycles, skateboards or vehicles above 8,000 kg axle load |
| Open safari vehicle (commercial) | Operator fee | charged to the operator under a SANParks permit; not on the public rates page |
This is where Kruger differs from most parks in the region: Zimbabwe, Kenya and Botswana all charge per vehicle. National access roads to all nine gates are tarred, and an ordinary saloon car can drive the tar and gravel tourist roads inside the park.

SANParks prices campsites by date and shows only 'from' prices in its booking engine; it publishes no campsite tariff on its Kruger page. Each site is priced for two people, with a supplement per extra adult or child. The conservation fee comes on top of every night.

Something this page does not answer?
Fees are the one thing park authorities change without telling anyone, and some of them publish nothing at all.
Ask us. We answer questions about the park itself, and we can usually tell you which camps work on one route and who to write to. If what you want is a trip someone else arranges, we will say so and hand you to an operator we know, and we earn a commission if that becomes a booking.
Nothing on this site sits behind the form. Every figure we have is already on the page.
